PROJECT CONSULTANT FOR
REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
BREGENZ – Austria
Working on regional and international development is a fascinating task. And in both fields the European Union is today a key player. This is why I have decided to go to Brussels and to attend this three months intensive course to get a deeper understanding of the workings of the European Union.
Before attending the International Master in European Studies I had already collected several years of work experience in international development. I have worked in Africa, Asia and Latin America where I was in charge of projects for humanitarian relief and development. During that time I have developed and managed projects with ECHO and EuropeAid funding. Now after the master a new field of activities has opened up for me – that of European Regional Development. Currently I am in charge of an ERDF funded transnational project covering countries of the Alpine Space. The Master has equipped me with the necessary background knowledge on EU policy making and has provided me with state of the art EU project management techniques. I have fond memories of the team of the European Desk of the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce who was always available for us students. And of course the Master was great to get to know people from all over Europe and to make new friendships.
